Position Summary:

Hello! My name is Katelyn, I am the owner and sole chef behind Grounded by Food. I am excited to be hiring for (much needed) kitchen support. I am currently pregnant and will be going on maternity leave by September. This position STARTS as a prep chef, supporting me in the kitchen, and includes training to take on more responsibility as I begin to step away. So the position has guaranteed growth in both responsibility and pay. Serious, long-term applicants ONLY.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Available on Monday every week with no exceptions

  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen setting is strongly preferred

  • Previous experience working with gluten/dairy-free food is strongly preferred

  • Consider yourself fun, communicative, creative, and collaborative.

  • Consider yourself someone who works well in fast-paced, high-pressure settings and loves to learn/grow.

  • Always on time

  • Passion for eating healthy and helping people

Position Details:

  • Food Prep: wash, peel, chop, and cut fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients according to recipe specifications.

  • Portion and Package food as it is done cooking.

  • Portion and package meals accurately based on weekly menus and portion sizes.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation.

  • Work efficiently to meet prep timelines and ensure meals are ready for delivery or pickup deadlines.

  • Training to take over my position as lead chef

  • Position starts at $20 an hour, 8-10 hours per week. Pay and hours will increase with responsibility/training.
